Stan James completed an un-welcome hat-trick last night when Spain won the World Cup, beating Holland 1-0 in extra time… 

Before the tournament started, Stan James offered punters their money back on all losing outright tournament winner bets if Spain went on to lift the trophy. 

Their bad run of money back specials started in May when they offered exactly the same type of 'money back special' on England winning the cricket World Twenty20 tournament - which they did by beating Australia in the final. 

Then in June they offered the same special (refunding all losing outright winner bets on the Men's French Open) on Rafael Nadal winning the French Open without dropping a single set, which he did.
