| Bradley favourite to take over at Villa |
Tuesday 10th August 2010
Martin O'Neill sensationally quit as Aston Villa manager yesterday - just 5 days before the start of the new Premier League season…
O'Neill was an 8/1-shot to be the next Premier League manager to leave their position yesterday morning but those odds had been slashed by the afternoon to just 8/11 with William Hill. The reason for the cut, a string of three figure bets on O'Neill leaving Villa from clients based in the Leicester area.
According to reports O'Neill was becoming increasingly frustrated by Villa's transfer policy. The final straw for O'Neill was when he found out they he would not be able to reinvest the money on new players should midfielder James Milner be sold to Manchester City.
Current USA coach Bob Bradley is the current 7/2 favourite to take over at Villa Park. With Sven Goran Eriksson next in the betting at 7/1, he's followed by former Charlton and West Ham boss Alan Curbishley at 8/1.
