Odds cut on Schumacher quitting Formula 1

Tuesday 3rd August 2010

William Hill have had to cut the odds on Michael Schumacher never racing again in Formula 1 from 50/1 to 33/1 after a series of bets on the former World Champion quitting the sport.

Schumacher was handed a 10-place grid penalty after the Hungarian Grand Prix. He was penalised for almost pushing his ex-team mate Rubens Barrichello into the pit wall at 180mph.

You can get 10/1 with William Hill that Schumacher gets banned at any point during the season for dangerous driving - he's Even Money not to return to Formula 1 next season.

Mark Webber who won in Hungary, currently leads the Drivers' Championship on 161 points. Lewis Hamilton is 2nd on 157 with Webber's Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel on 151 points. Vettel is currently the bookies' favourite to win the Drivers' Championship at 15/8 with Webber next in the betting at 3/1
