| Rose trimmed for BBC award... |
Tuesday 6th July 2010
Golfer Justin Rose has been cut from 100/1 to 28/1 to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award (SPOTY) after he won his second PGA Tour event in the last 5 weeks at the AT&T National on Sunday night.
Rose has also been cut from 33/1 to 20/1 to win the Open Championship at St Andrews later this month.
Wayne Rooney was the 5/2 bookies' favourite to win the award but after England's disastrous World Cup he's been pushed out to 66/1. Jockey Tony McCoy is the current favourite at 9/4. Andy Murray was 6/1 but he's now 8/1 after he was beaten by Rafael Nadal in the Semi Finals of Wimbledon last week.
