The XX favourites for the Mercury Music Prize

The nominations for this year's Mercury Music Prize were announced yesterday...

The XX are the current red hot favourites with William Hill to scoop the prize – their price was slashed from 4/1 to 15/8 after reports of a massive gamble overnight. Mumford and Sons are next in the betting at 9/2, followed by Wild Beasts at 5/1. Dizzee Rascal who won the prize back in 2003 has drifted from 4/1 to 16/1. 

The winner will be announced on the night of Tuesday 7th September.
