| Woods 9/2 to win his first tournament of 2010 |
Thursday 5th August 2010
Tiger Woods is the 9/2 favourite to win the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational tournament that starts today. Tiger has an impressive record at the Firestone County club winning the tournament on no less than 7 occasions. He'll be hoping to land his 5th title in a row.
Woods has not won a tournament since returning to the tour in April after revelations about his private life.
Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood are next in the betting for the Bridgestone Invitational at 14/1.
If Mickelson wins the event he will take over from Tiger Woods as the World Number 1. Woods have been at #1 in the rankings for the past 269 weeks. If Woods finishes way down the field, a Top 4 finish would be good enough for Mickelson to take over at the top of the rankings as well.
